Verónica Arnáiz holds a BA in Translation and Interpreting from Universidad de Valladolid (UVA), Spain, and two MAs in Specialised Translation from UVA, and in Audiovisual Translation from the Universitat Autònoma de Barcelona (UAB).
She is a professional translator and teaches Technical Translation, Subtitling and SDH at the UVA and at the MA in “Professional and Institutional Translation” at the UVA.
She is member of the research group Transmedia Catalonia (Audiovisual Translation and Accessibility in the Media, UAB); collaborates in BITRA (Spanish government-funded project for an international and interactive database of publications on T&I, Universidad de Alicante); and is co-project manager of D’Artagnan, the subtitling part of the EU-funded project DTV4ALL led by Pilar Orero (UAB).
She has presented a number of papers in Audiovisual Translation and SDH at the Conference “La traduction audiovisuelle: Aproches multidisciplinaires” (Montpellier, 2008)“, the 2nd International Conference: Media for All” (Leiría, Portugal, 2007), “Euroconferences” (Copenhagen 2006 and Vienna 2007), “Amadis” (Granada, 2007 and 2008) and will be presenting “Eyetracking: the key to audiovisual translation objectivity” in Strasburg (“Translation Tools, Tools for the Translator”, September 2008).
She has also published several articles and reviews in different magazines and volumes.
