Anjana Martínez Tejerina obtained her Degree in Translation and Interpretation at the University of Alicante in 2003, Sworn Translator Title in 2004 and the Diploma in Doctoral Studies in 2006, with a dissertation about the dubbing of wordplay in the Marx Brothers cinema. In 2004, she obtained a Leonardo grant to work as an Assistant Teacher in London for two years. She finished a Masters in Screen Translation in the Universidad Autónoma de Barcelona in 2007. At present, she is working as an audiovisual translator and is about to submit her doctoral thesis. She is a member of Transmedia Catalonia, a research group on AVT and Accessibility led by Dr Pilar Orero (Universidad Autónoma de Barcelona).
She has presented a paper on dubbing at the “V conferences on dubbing and subtitling” held in Universidad de Alicante (Spain, 2006) and a paper on a pilot study in SDH in the “2nd International Conference ‘Media for All’” celebrated in Leiria (Portugal, 2007). She will also be presenting a paper on SDH positioning at “La traduction audiovisuelle: Approches pluridisciplinaires” in University of Montpellier 3 (France, June 2008). She has published four articles in international peer-reviewed journals such as Jostrans.
