Agnieszka Szarkowska

Agnieszka Szarkowska holds a PhD in Audiovisual Translation from the Institute of English Studies at the University of Warsaw. She now works as an assistant professor at the Institute of Applied Lingustics at her alma mater, teaching translation. She is also a certified translator and cooperates with translation agencies as a freelancer.

Her academic research interests include: audiovisual translation, esp. subtitling and SDH; Forms of address in various cultures and their translation; corpus linguistics and the use of corpora for translation studies; translator training and e-learning.
